M/s Ushdev International Limited is a part of the Ushdev Group whose history can be traced back to 1988. The group began operations by trading in imported pig iron, steel scrap, non-ferrous metals etc, the group has moved from strength to strength. Late Mr. Vijay Gupta incorporated Ushdev International Ltd. on 14th May 1994. The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange since incorporation.

The core activities of this company are Power Generation and Trading of Metals. The Company commenced operations by trading in steel. Ushdev has also started trading in other metals like copper, aluminium, zinc and brass. Seeing the scope for growth and expansion in the wind power industry, the company diversified into wind power generation through windmills in 1997. The Company has an impressive track record showing consistent increases in sales. In FY 09-10 , Ushdev has achieved sales of Rs. 1749 Crore for the financial year ended 2010 as compared to sales of Rs. 1385 crores for the financial year ended 2009, i.e. almost 25.76% jump compared to the last financial year.

Today, Ushdev International Limited is 2nd largest private sector trading company after Adani. UIL is ranked as the 8th largest Trading co (private & public put together) after the likes of MMTC, STC, PTC, etc.
